LOS ANGELES (CBS) — An 18-year-old woman was found shot in an alley in South Los Angeles and later was pronounced dead at a hospital, authorities said Thursday.
The shooting was reported just before 11 p.m. Wednesday at 111th Street and Avalon Boulevard, Sgt. Philip Thompson of the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The woman had sustained several gunshot wounds, authorities said. She died at a hospital shortly before midnight, according to the coroner’s office. Her name was withheld, pending notification of her relatives.
There was no information about a suspect or suspects. It’s not known if the shooting was gang-related, the LAPD said.
